Screams of Frustration

Lilliana is doing a lot by herself...
Or attempting to... but sometimes without success..
Which leads to the screams of frustration..
This started happening this weekend...
So all along we have been teaching her "help me"
So when something is not working or she can't figure it out...
All we have to do is say.. do you need HELP
And she says "bep meee" or "help me".. It is so damn cute!
And effective!! TG!

But we just bought her a playdoll baby and a stroller...
Good deals at WalMart and our local consignment store...
And she is LOVING it... and all she says is bebe bebe bebe LOL

She is on the cusp of talking a lot more...
But great at repetition... it is coming SOOOOOON!

Ok I have no excuse!

I haven't posted in forever!
But I will try again I promise...

Lil has just be a ball of energy...
An almost talking whirlwind!

And she is still on her "whats that"? kick...
God help us...

I am just hoping she is storing all of the words we give her with that question...
And anytime now she is going to spew paragraph after paragraph and stun us all...

But the irony... she has one toy that she loves... can't be with out...
That would be MR. COW... a girl but we are stupid parents who said Mr... not sure why!
And at 16 months... she refuses to call him/her by that name
It is "whats that"? and we tell her Mr. Cow a million times!

BUT!!!! Two new friends on the scene she can say are ELMO and BARNEY!
If fact... as of this weekend... my partner and I have both been ELMO as well...

But no MR. COW...
Hopefully soon!

Sorry I have been lax writing!!

It is already March and I did not blog but once in February...
It has been an itching nag in the back of my head...
But life has been in the way... really!!
Lilliana is now walking everywhere... and walking very far away from us!
We try to chase her down and it is one of her new games :)
So now we are wisening up and closing all the doors to the rooms
So now her world is a little bit smaller but we don't have to worry about her eating something off the floor or hurting herself!
She is really now our shadow...
She is always following us where ever we go...
Cute until we don't realize it and boom she goes down....
Thank god for those diapers sometimes...
She still looks like a cross between Frankenstein and a drunken sailor...

But she is so damn cute... WE LOVE HER! :)

What a time we are having!

Look at that... I have already given up on the resolution to write here more!
Lilliana is a crazy almost walking fool with bangs!!
That is right! BANGS!
I just did the unthinkable this Sunday before her birthday party... (postponed due to the snow)
She so needed it done...and with her ability to now take the pretty little hair things out of her hair I just HAD too...
Picture to come I promise!!

But she has been miserable with a cold that she successfully gave to me and DeeDee...
And she just can't kick it... she needs a week of rest without snotty drooly kids at daycare...
But unfortunately we can't take the time off... but it will be another trip to the peds tomorrow probably...
With her heart condition I want to make sure that all is well!!

She is almost walking and last night on a Barney DVD trip to Target my partner started letting her walk and she was holding on with one hand... how damn cute is that!!
Those little legs trying hold steady and get moving...

Oh I can't wait till we see her take some steps by herself without our prompting!!

Ok... I promise I will write more!!

Will get a picture up soon!

Happy 1st Year!!!

WOW!

It has been a year!! OMG!
It has flown by so quickly....

I think in celebration of your birthday I will recount the birth day....
One year ago on January 15th we went to the doctor's to see when you might be arriving...
After an ultrasound and stress test they thought the best thing to do was to make our way to the hospital...
I was already about 2 centimeters dilated...
Because of the possibility of low fluid they decided you would be arriving in the next 24 hours with the help of induction!!
We still had so much to do but I knew I was ready!!
The day before I had packed my bags for the hospital and declared... "NOW SHE CAN COME!"
And there you were on your way!

After the doctor's appointment we went to the apartment to gather our things..
Then we went to the hospital for another stress test... It was very very cold that day...
And we were glad not to be doing a lot outside with all that wind!!
The doctor saw nothing wrong with the test but gave us the choice of waiting a night and coming back very early the next morning or just staying over night and getting the party started!
We decided since we had our bags and it was so cold out that we would be fine just staying there...
They actually only had one room left and it was the best room on the ward... With lots of windows and light...

They started me on pitocin that afternoon to start helping my body go through contractions...
Though I could start to feel them towards the night time they decided to let me sleep and turned off the pitocin...
DeeDee and I stayed over night in that room and were able to have about 6 hours of sleep! Though I think both of us didn't really sleep at all... it was all too exciting!!

The next morning at about 7:30 they got serious about wanting you to be in the world!
We started the pitocin again more aggressively and they broke my water... a sure sign that it would be only hours before you arrived...
The contraction were stronger this time and I knew you were make your way down....

Your head was facing up in a sunnyside position so the contractions were painful against my tailbone
I made use of the rocking chair in the room... I was able to manage the pain with long breaths and counting to 10 with each...
It because calming and I got through each contraction...
But the pace finally picked up to the point where I started really hurting... and I couldn't do anything to get comfortable...

Your Uncle Larry came by with lunch for DeeDee but I just couldn't entertain right then... and felt really bad about it...
I shed a few tears but Uncle Larry understood... I was working on having you!! :)
I tried a few other positions and nothing was helping with the pain...
A funny thing happened when a temporary nurse came in to help...
She made me a bath and thought that might help... but i was attached to a lot of instruments...
So those had to come with me...
After I tried to gracefully get into the tub with everything attached... I slipped and the water was too high...
So out comes the water... all over the floor... everyone got wet!!

It didn't actually help with the pain so I got out in less than 5 minutes...
Before I went to the tub I had called Auntie Jammie... and she was on her way...
She was going to help DeeDee in coaching me...
So when she arrived I was at the breaking point... and finally said... DRUGS!!
But Auntie Jammie and DeeDee knew that I didn't really want them...
And tried to take my mind off the pain.. hard to do at this point!!
So the nurse said that she would get the doctor and see how far along I was... and see if pain management would be what I wanted...

Well come to find out when he examined me I was 9 1/2 centimeters... at 10 I could push!!
So I was so far along that drugs wouldn't have worked!!
So I said... OK... I am in for the long haul drugfree!!

Finally it came time to push... the contractions were nice and slow...
TOO SLOW... I pushed for 2 1/2 hours to finally see you...
Meanwhile DeeDee and Auntie Jammie were holding my legs up the WHOLE time!!
They definitely had sore muscles after that workout!!

My pushes weren't very productive... it seemed like every 3rd push would get you down more...
And then your heartbeat started dropping with every contraction and they said they really needed to see you!
With everyone saying PUSH PUSH PUSH...
I PUSHED!!! And out you came... you flew out and Dr. LeClerc had great reflexes...
You almost flew passed him... and it was finally done... I could see you!!
Finally... after 9 months... you were finally in my arms!!
DeeDee and Auntie Jammie stayed with you while they cleaned me up... and you were doing great...

We were so happy to see you!!

We were so excited to see you and finally have you join our family... knowing you were exactly what we wanted and hoped that we would be what you wanted too...

Happy Birth Day baby girl...we love you!! I can't wait to see what this year brings...

Wa Zat??????

Our dear child now knows the secret phrase...
Wa Zat??? or in our language: What's that?!
It was cute and endearing the first 20 times...
How cute... oh how smart oh she is a genius :)
Now it is a shade old LOL... but cute and smart just the same...
So now with her new found question...
She is getting a bevy of new words... or objects that now have meaning...
I am hoping she is talking more soon!!
She is getting it... but it is funny..

She sees something... it intrigues her...
She sticks up her finger and points to the object and then......
Wa Zat???

How beautiful is that!?

Happy 11th Month!!

Oh my! It is already the new year...
And I completely skipped her 11th month welcome...
Well I am here to rectify that and to start blogging more!
My baby is close to being a year!! I just can't fathom that a year ago I was waiting for her...
That she was created by me... living in peaceful cohabitation for 9 months!
That just amazes me... and when I look at her...
She looks a lot like me and I really think I didn't expect it any other way!
Lilliana is doing a lot of babbling with more words spicing it up here or there...
She gets a lot more too... you just see it clicking! It is a lot of fun!
Plus she is getting a kick out of her self too.. and this hearty laugh just comes out of her...
Sounding completely fake... but it is pure joy to her!
She is not walking yet... but the introduction to a walker from LeapPad and our hands and sore backs hopefully she is walking full tilt soon!!
She loves her walker, a present from her Auntie Jammy...

The hair... that is another story... to cut bangs or not! that is the question!
She is a ragamuffin now and I HAVE to put it up every day...
But it is such a lovely shade... with a lot of blond and red in it...
We are speeding towards her 1 year birthday and I am just amazed....
Another couple of weeks I will do a recap of our wonderful, amazing, truly blessed year with Lilliana...
Happy 11th month Lilliana and as always I love you!
